My 2-dimentional paintings of the figure, explore an interest in surrealism and the suggestion of a psychological space. Each image thematically references memory and place by depicting inward feelings of restraint and uncertainty. It is at this place when past experiences, grounded on a singular perspective, are re-lived through memory. These feelings are intensified with the knowledge that memory cannot be altered. In this way, the human figure for this work, is used as a catalyst to express the loss of control through memory.
